Hepatitis B in Pregnant Women and Children
In pregnant women who are diagnosed with chronic Hepatitis B infection early in pregnancy, the decision to initiate therapy must weigh the risks and benefits of treatment. Treatment is usually initiated in patients with hepatic fibrosis or at risk of decompensation. Hepatitis B therapy in pregnant women is usually postponed until the 3rd trimester to avoid perinatal transmission
